BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College women's soccer team kicks off the 2019 season on Tuesday at Huser Field. The Scots will face Bacone College at 2:00 p.m.
The Matchup
Bacone College: This will be the first game of the season for the Bacone College Warriors. The Warriors were unable to get enough players to field a team last year. However, in the 2017 season, Bacone College compiled a 9-8-1 record overall, 4-6-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots return to the pitch Tuesday for the 2019 campaign after compiling an 8-8-2 record last season. The Scots return a pair of forwards from the 2018 squad who each scored six goals last season in
Hailey Gonzales and
Sarah Evans. Lyon will also rely on
Elena Cervantes and
Alexandria Denton in the back
. Cervantes and Denton led the team with 1,652 and 1,600 minutes played, respectively. The Scots will look for leadership from their lone senior,
Tabetha Troxler. Troxler started 17 matches and tallied three goals during the 2018 campaign.
Series History
This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
