BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's soccer team returns to action Friday night for a non-conference road match. The Scots will face John Brown University at 7:00 p.m.
The Matchup
John Brown University: This will be the second game of the season for the John Brown University Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles, a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference, opened up the 2019 campaign with a 2-1 victory over Texas A&M-Texarkana on Monday. Sophomore midfielder, Micah Herrmann, and freshman forward, Jacob Zamarron, each recorded a goal in their first match. Jessie Zavala and Adrian Immel tallied an assist apiece. The Golden Eagles goalkeeper, Britt Wisener, recorded a save against Texas A&M-Texarkana en route to a victory.
Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots travel to Siloam Springs for their second match of the young season. The Scots lost their opening match to LSU-Alexandria on Tuesday by a score of 1-0. Juniors,
Vitor Fujiwara,
Raimundo Cabello, and
Jonathan Carrere recorded two shots apiece against LSU-Alexandria. Lyon College will also lean on junior goalkeeper,
Vicente Alamos, who recorded seven saves in his first game of the 2019 campaign.
Series History
Lyon is 1-2-0 all-time against John Brown University, with their most recent meeting being in 2018 as the Golden Eagles defeated the Scots by a score of 1-0.
