PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Lyon College men's basketball team had its season come to an end in the American Midwest Conference Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday night as the No. 7-seed Scots fell to No. 2-seed Park, 60-45. The Scots finished the season at 17-14 overall. The 17 wins during the regular season tied for the most wins in a regular season since 1997-98 for the Scots. With the win, Park improved to 19-10 and will host No. 3-seed Hannibal-LaGrange, who earned an 84-69 win over No. 6-seed Harris-Stowe, on Saturday in the semifinals of the AMC Tournament.
Prior to the game, five Scots – Antanas Krimelis, Faris Verlasevic, Chave Zackery, Jacob Smith and Emir Sabic - were honored for being named to the AMC All-Academic Team. Verlasevic was also named to the AMC Champions of Character Team.

Park set the tone early against the Scots as the Pirates raced out to an 8-0 lead just under three minutes into the game. The Scots cut the deficit in half with four straight points by Blake Bradshaw, but the Pirates responded with a big run to extend their lead to 18-6 after a three-pointer by Jacob Kline. Verlasevic was the key to another comeback by the Scots as the sophomore nailed a triple and a jumper to pull the Scots back within five at 18-13 with 7:50 left in the half. The Scots kept the deficit to single-digits until a three by Zach Rutland gave Park a 31-21 lead at the half.
Park began to pull away from the Scots late in the second half. A 9-3 run by the Pirates gave Park their largest lead of the game at 53-33 with 3:24 remaining. Lyon attempted one final comeback as a put-back by Eric Koludrovic cut the deficit to 15, but time ran out on the Scots' comeback attempt.
Bradshaw finished with a team-high 10 points to lead the Scots offensively. Rutland paced the Pirates with a game-high 12 points, while Allen Hyatt added 10.
