BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's basketball team opened up its 2019-20 campaign with a 90-78 victory at home against Huston-Tillotson on Nov. 1. The Scots will now head out on the road for the first time this season as they prepare to face Texas A&M-Texarkana on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
LYON: Four players scored in double figures for Lyon in the Scots' season-opening victory over Huston-Tillotson. Dominique Loyd and Ray Price led the way for the Scots with a team-high 16 points each. Grant Patterson added 14 points as he finished the game 11-for-12 at the charity stripe. Jonathan Iliya just missed out on a double-double in his first game as a Scot as he finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.
TAMUT: Texas A&M-Texarkana enters the game at 1-2 on the season after an 88-74 loss against (RV) Dillard on Monday night. Four Eagles are averaging double figures in scoring this season, led by Anthony McGee's 22 points per game. Desmond Kennedy is second on the team, averaging 13 points per game, while Connor Ouellett is just behind him at 12.7 points per game to go along with a team-high six rebounds per game. Decorian Phillips is the final Eagle averaging double figures at 12.3 points per game.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the first meeting between the Scots and Eagles in the history of the two programs.
UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following Thursday night's game at TAMUT, the Scots will travel to Paragould, Ark., to face Crowley's Ridge College in non-conference action on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
