BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's soccer team squares off with No. 1 seed Columbia College on Friday in the AMC Finals. The match will begin at 3:00 p.m.
The Matchup
Columbia College: The Columbia College Cougars enter the match with a 19-0 overall record. The Cougars are coming off a semifinal victory over Williams Baptist University on Tuesday. Columbia is led offensively by Nick Brandt and Joey Spotanski. Brandt has a team-high seven assists to go along with six goals scored, while Spotanski has tallied six goals and two assists on the season. The Cougars will rely on their goalkeeper, Ryan Harrisskitt, who has made 49 saves in the 2019 campaign.
Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots are currently 15-4-1 on the season. The Scots are coming off a semifinal victory over Park University on Tuesday. Lyon is led up front by
Raimundo Cabello and
Marcos Fernandez. Fernandez has recorded an AMC-best 16 assists to go along with 11 goals scored, while Cabello has tallied 10 goals on the year.
Rafael Santos has scored nine goals and recorded six assists, while
Emanuel Santos has posted 11 assists and scored six times during the 2019 campaign. Lyon College goalkeeper,
Vicente Alamos, has totaled a team-best 64 saves, including six clean sheets.
Lyon and Columbia College last met on September 21
st as the Cougars defeated the Scots by a score of 2-1 in 2OT.
