BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's soccer team squares off with No. 3 seed Park University on Tuesday in the AMC Semifinals. The match will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Huser Field.
The Matchup
Park University: The Park University Pirates enter the match with a 9-4-2 overall record. The Pirates are coming off a quarterfinal victory over Missouri Baptist University on Saturday. Park is led offensively by Jakib Jones and Mohamed Ndaliro. Jones has a team-high 11 goals on the year to go along with two assists, while Ndaliro has scored eight times and recorded three assists on the season. The Pirates will rely on their goalkeeper, Elias Eichhorn, who has made 32 saves in the 2019 campaign.
Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots are currently 14-4-1 on the season. The Scots are coming off a quarterfinal victory over Lindenwood University-Belleville on Saturday. Lyon is led up front by
Raimundo Cabello and
Marcos Fernandez. Fernandez has recorded an AMC-best 16 assists to go along with 11 goals scored, while Cabello has tallied 10 goals on the year.
Rafael Santos has scored nine goals and recorded six assists, while
Emanuel Santos has posted 11 assists and scored six times during the 2019 campaign. Lyon College goalkeeper,
Vicente Alamos, has totaled a team-best 57 saves, including five clean sheets.
Lyon and Park University last met on October 27
th as the Scots defeated the Pirates by a score of 3-0.
