BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College women's soccer team squares off with William Woods University on Saturday. The match will begin at 11:00 a.m.  

The Matchup
William Woods University: The William Woods University Owls are 10-7 on the year, 9-2 in the AMC. The Owls are currently riding an eight-match win streak with wins over Stephens, Freed-Hardeman, Park, Williams Baptist, Central Baptist, Hannibal-LaGrange, Harris-Stowe State, and St. Louis College of Pharmacy. William Woods is led up front by McKenzie Gourley and Aurora Henriksen. Gourley has recorded a team-best 22 goals on the season, while Henriksen has tallied a team-high seven assists and scored three times on the year. William Woods University will lean on goalkeeper, Michyla Handley, who has recorded a team-high 48 saves this year.

Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots are currently 7-9 on the season, 4-7 in the AMC. Lyon is coming off a 7-0 loss to Park University on Sunday. The hosts from Batesville are led up front by an array of Scots. Tabetha Troxler has scored a team-best six goals this year. Kimberly Fretwell, Sarah Evans, and Hailey Gonzales have each tallied five goals on the season, while Gonzales and Alexandria Denton have recorded six assists apiece. In addition to her goal-scoring abilities, the Scots will lean on goalkeeper, Tabetha Troxler, who has recorded a team-best 27 saves.

Lyon is 4-3-1 all-time against William Woods University, with their most recent meeting being in 2018 as the Scots defeated the Owls by a score of 1-0.
