With the score 18-13 in favor of WBU, Lyon rattled off six consecutive points to take a 19-18 advantage. Both sides exchanged points until the set was tied at 23. An Alley Edwards kill and a Kendra Davidson service ace clinched the second set for the visitors from Batesville, 25-23.

Lyon would strike right back, winning the next five rallies to retake the lead, 14-12. Each side would trade leads until the Eagles took a 23-22 advantage late in the frame.
