ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University used four second-half goals to defeat Lyon College by a score of 4-0 on Saturday.
Lyon moves to 5-7 overall, 2-5 in the AMC, while Missouri Baptist University improves to 3-8-1 overall, 3-2-1 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
Both sides generated chances in the first half, but were unable to get on the board in the first 45 minutes. As the halftime whistle sounded, the match remained scoreless. MBU outshot Lyon, 7-5.
The match remained knotted at zero until the 52
nd minute. MBU's Madi Dunahue scored her fourth goal of the season, giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead. The Spartans would go on to score three goals in a six-minute span. First, Maddie Mrazik delivered a pass to Gianna Gore in the 64
th minute. Gore struck a shot into the back of the net, doubling MBU's lead. In the 69
th minute, Madi Dunahue tacked on her second goal of the afternoon. Maddie Mrazik rounded out the scoring for the Spartans in the 70
th minute, giving MBU a 4-0 advantage. The Scots attempted to respond, but were unsuccessful and fell to MBU by a score of 4-0 Saturday afternoon.
