BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's basketball team got five straight points to open up the game by Blake Bradshaw and never looked back as the Scots took a 19-point lead at the half and cruised to a 78-49 win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy in an American Midwest Conference matchup on Monday night inside Becknell Gymnasium. The Scots jumped to 6-4 (3-2 AMC) with the win, while STLCOP fell to 2-11 (1-6 AMC).

The Eutectics managed to pull back within a single point on a three-pointer by Dalton Shust after the early run by the Scots, but Lyon answered back with a three of their own by Chave Zackery. After a free throw by Eric MosesEmir Sabic began to heat up from the field as the senior scored 10 of his game-high 24 points over the next five minutes of the game. Moses added two more free throws before Sabic gave the Scots their largest lead of the half at 30-9 that capped off a 20-0 run. STLCOP got back into the scoring column with a bucket by Devon Howard as the Scots held the Eutectics scoreless for over 11 minutes. The Scots' lead hovered between 17-to-20 points the rest of the half as a layup by Sabic with 10 seconds remaining gave Lyon a 41-22 advantage at the break.

The Scots lead grew to as many as 33 points late in the second half after a three-pointer by Ray Price put Lyon ahead, 68-35. STLCOP would cut the deficit to below 30 points momentarily, but a bucket each by Jawaun Bryant and Eric Koludrovic and two more by Bradshaw gave the Scots a 32-point victory.

Every player that saw action in the game scored for the Scots. Faris Verlasevic and Bradshaw also finished with double-digit point totals at 13 and 11, respectively.

The Scots will now prepare to face Crowley's Ridge College two times within a three-day span. The first of the two meetings will occur on Thursday night at 4 p.m. inside Becknell Gymnasium.
