GAME FLOW
In the first set, the Pirates jumped out to an early 13-7 advantage over the Scots. However, Lyon would battle back, winning two straight points to cut the deficit to four at 13-9. Park, though, would quickly answer as they would rattle off four straight points to extend their lead to eight. Park would continue to build on their advanatge the rest of the set, winning the first stanza by a score of 25-12.
In the second frame, the Scots and Pirates traded points early as Park held a slim 5-4 lead following a Maggee Hobson kill, assisted by Ellie Embry. However, Park would immediately counter by going on a 10-2 run, pushing their lead to 15-6. The Pirates would hold a comfortable lead the rest of the second stanza, winning the second set by the same score they took the first, 25-12.
The third frame was the most competitive of the night as the Scots were flying around defensively and attacking aggressively and efficiently. Even though Park jetted out to an early 10-5 lead, Lyon would fight back and go on a 7-2 run to knot the score at 12 apiece. The Scots would take the lead, 14-13, after one of Gracen Ratliff's team-high 7 kills on the night, assisted by Kaitlyn Jackson. However, Park would have an answer to the Scots' stellar play. The Pirates finished the match on a 12-3 run, winning the third set by a score of 25-17, and sweeping Lyon College.
KEY STATISTICS
- Madisson Williams finished her Lyon College career with a match-high 13 digs and Lyon's only ace of the night.
- Gracen Ratliff recorded a team-best 7 kills on the night, while Michayla Shanks added 5.
- Kaitlyn Jackson tallied 10 assists in the contest, while Ellie Embry etched 8.
- Park bested the Scots in kills, 29-22, and committed 13 fewer attacking errors, 25-12.
