Lyon College

Lyon College head athletic trainer, Emily Wallace, announced that Sarah Schowengerdt has joined the staff as an assistant athletic trainer in July 2021.

Schowengerdt comes to Lyon after pursuing her Master’s of Science in Athletic Training through the Sterling College (KS) Athletic Training Program. While at Sterling, Schowengerdt worked with football, women’s volleyball, men’s basketball, and men’s and women’s soccer. She also helped cover men’s and women’s basketball at Barton Community College and football at Dodge City Community College for outside clinical rotations.

Schowengerdt also has experience as a Physical Therapy Technician as she worked at Orthopedic and Sports Therapy Center in Wichita Falls, Texas during the summer of 2018.

Schowengerdt is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is Basic Life Support certified for CPR and first aid with the American Heart Association. Schowengerdt recently received her Board of Certification in Athletic Training.
