James McIntyre

The Lyon College Athletics Department is pleased to announce that James McIntyre has been hired as the new Assistant Athletic Director.

McIntyre is a 2018 graduate of Ball State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Sports Administration along with a minor in Marketing. McIntyre brings in several years of athletic administration experience, primarily serving at the NCAA Division I level.

McIntyre joins the Scots' Athletic Administration staff from the University of Memphis, where he served as the Director of Softball Operations & Player Development for the Tigers during the 2023-2024 season. McIntyre held the same position for Penn State University Softball program the during the 2022-2023 season as well. In these positions, McIntyre assisted the softball staffs with tasks such as crafting team schedules and itineraries, assisting with official recruit visits and special athletic events, and coordinate the game day operations.

Following graduation from Ball State University, McIntyre served as a Baseball Analytics Video Scout at Sports Information Solutions (SIS) in 2019. SIS is a data collection company that works closely with companies such as ESPN, along with numerous professional sports franchises in the NFL, NBA, and MLB.

McIntyre's experience at SIS landed him a position in the Los Angeles Dodgers system as a Video Associate & Player Development during the 2020 season. There, McIntyre charted both games and practices, created highlight videos for players in the Dodgers' minor league system, and worked closely with the team's Assistant Coordinator of Minor League Video to complete numerous administrative tasks.

From 2021-2022, McIntyre also served as the Assistant Director of Olympic Video at the University of Alabama. There, he assisted both the Crimson Tide's softball and soccer programs by formulating scouting reports by filtering through game, practice, and opponent film. McIntyre also served both teams in other administrative and logistical tasks, including assisting the Head Women's Soccer Coach in team operations.
