BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS - Lyon College Athletic Department welcomes new Scots Men's Wrestling Head Coach Christopher Wilmington.

"We are very excited for our men's wrestling program," Lyon College Athletic Director Kevin Jenkins said. "Coach Wilmington comes from a background of national success both as a student-athlete and as a coach. We believe Lyon College wrestling will be extremely successful with Coach Wilmington leading the program. We believe we will continue the outstanding and competitive experience for our student-athletes. He has a great understanding of what it takes to both recruit and coach at a high level and we are looking forward to what the future holds for Lyon College Men's Wrestling!"

Wilmington comes to Batesville from Seminole, Florida where he was head wrestling coach for St. Petersburg Catholic High School. Previously he was head wrestling coach at Admiral Farragut Academy, Victory Christian Academy and Northside Christian School.

Wilmington is a former Machinist Mate (MME) in the United States Navy.

Some of his coaching accolades include seven Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state championships, three FHSAA State Runner-ups, 32 FHSAA State Qualifiers, two high school freestyle All-Americans, one MS National Champion and two MS All-Americans. Wilmington has coached for more than 20 years and has a USA Wrestling Bronze Coaching Certification, AAU Wrestling Coach certification, 3 Dimensional Coach Certification and is a wrestling official. Â
