Batesville, AR - For the 2026 season, Lyon College men's track and field team has been voted to finish fifth in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference pre-season poll.
Lyon received 36 points to place 5th in front of the Mississippi University for Women (31), Westminster (18), Blackburn (16), and Eureka (13).
Greenville placed 1st with 64 points and six first-place votes. Webster was ranked 2nd receiving 55 points with two first-place votes, while Principia earned the 3rd place spot with 53 points and one first-place vote. Just ahead of the Scots is Spalding getting for 40 points for 4th place.
Scots will look to improve on their 4th place outdoor and 5th place indoor SLIAC championship finishes from last year. Lyon will return
Jakobe Alcorn who has competed in hurdles, high jump and javelin. Along with
Noah Cordes and
Avery Sterling who also compete in hurdles.
The 2026 season begins on Friday, January 30 at 2:00 PM in Elsah, Illinois , at the Principia Relays.
