BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College Men's Cross Country team won the Lyon College Invitational Dual meet against Williams Baptist on Friday evening in Batesville.
Henry Mulder led Lyon College with a third-place finish in a time of 30:51.75. He was just ahead of teammates
Jakobe Alcorn (30:54.98),
Mark Brill (32:31.92),
Jesse Messmann (33:12.75),
Joseph Peal (34:29.94) and
Marlon Durand (34:39.86) as the Scots finished third, fourth, fifth, sixth, ninth and tenth to gain enough points to edge by Williams Baptist for first place.
Lyon College averaged 32.24.27 for a score of 27 points and Williams Baptist was at a 32:47.11 for 29 points. Ryan Moshinsky of Williams Baptist was first across the line in a time of 27:43.92 and he was followed in second by Gunner Shell of Williams Baptist with a time of 28:49.22, but from there it was all Scots.
And representing the Lyon College women's cross country team,
Kaylee Lambe finished third overall in a time of 22:52.36.
Emma Eaton also ran for the Scots, but did not score a time. Kyia Weisbord of Williams Baptist was first in the event with a time of 20:55.38.
The Lyon College cross country teams will be in action again on September 24, at the McNeese State University/Toyota Cowboy Stampede in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
